Many school in New Zealand are onestoried.
This is ideal if the building site permits.
It's very
fortunate for the school children to be able
to learn in
such circumstances. Now it is the winter
holidays, though
the cries of the young can be heard from
a gymnasium.
The classrooms are, unusually, as silent
as the
grave in the winter sunlight.
